Destiny Is Approaching

My questions of the hour is how do you prepare for destiny? Is the preparation for destiny different from your daily preparations? Everyday we arise and go through routines that ready us to face our day.  Some pray and fortify their minds with scripture before departing their homes.  Most people go thru some type of hygiene ritual, taking careful time to adorn their bodies, forgetting that we need to ready the spirit man as well.  So often times we find ourselves returning to our homes battered by the attacks of the day.  We neglect tending to the the kinks in our armor because they are not vicious blows to the face or complete knock outs! My Girlfriends

Recently I read an article that questioned rather or not black women made good friends. I was immediately appalled by the question. The article relayed habits such as putting each other down and debasing women that were attempting to make something of their lives.  I could not debate that we as black women are the hardest critics of ourselves. I did wonder which race of women did not display catty behaviors? I questioned if there is a race where the women were not competitive and did not talk about each others accomplishments with disdain. Dismissing the hard work and achievements accomplished by others due to the insecurities in their own lives. Continue reading

Why is it that when you indulge in positive behaviors, expecting to receive positive outcomes, our loves ones and friends are quick to label us as fanatics?  I have to admit I fall prey to this amazing phenomenon! When we hear that a person has drastically changed there diet, we say, “Oh My God, he is a fanatic!” If you share  radical ideas, such as, no longer reading secular material and devoting all those hours to reading your bible you may be warned, not to be a fanatic. We are taught,  balance is good. But we over indulge in so many areas, television, technology, eating, drinking, and sex. Usually when we devote extra time to bad habits there are no complaints, until you are labeled an abuser. Continue reading
